So, you’ve decided to answer the call for ACTION, that’s great!
Being a part of a Junior Board of Directors for youth in transitional living shows your commitment to making a positive impact on the lives of young people. Our transitional living programs are designed to assist young individuals who are transitioning from foster care, homelessness, or other challenging circumstances into independent living.
As a member of the Junior Board of Directors, you will have several responsibilities and opportunities to contribute to the organization’s mission. Through advocacy and outreach, Fundraising, Program Development, Volunteer Coordination, Community Engagement and Youth support, your dedication and contributions to the Junior Board of Directors can make a significant difference in the lives of youth in transitional living.
Your financial donations support the programs and resources that empower our teens to succeed, but that’s not the only way you can help us provide the services and programs that can transform their lives.
We welcome donations of new and gently used clothing (winter outerwear and undergarments) and hygiene articles for our winter clothes distribution.
For our annual housewarming event, we welcome donations of small appliances (dorm refrigerators and toaster ovens, among other things), bedding, towels, cleaning supplies and more.
Collaboration and partnership foster a collective approach to social issues, encouraging organizations to work together toward a common goal. By working together with other organizations and businesses, we’ll pool resources, expertise, and networks. This cooperative effort amplifies our impact, expands our reach, and creates more efficient use of resources, and increases the likelihood of achieving meaningful and sustainable change in the lives of those we serve.
Individuals and corporate teams can support the work of HART House and make lasting change in our community by helping at-risk youth make the transition to adulthood in safety and security.
Our volunteers and volunteer teams serve in myriad ways. No matter where your strengths or passions lie, you can help some of the most vulnerable members of our society lead productive and satisfying lives.
If you are motivated to share your knowledge and experience, you can get involved with HART House as a mentor and role model, supporting our teen participants’ development and independence.
If you would like to share different gifts, you can provide administrative support, work on fundraising, or help with events, among other things.
